GIRLS 4-7 YEARS

Join in the fun of Woolworths Junior Blast – Saturday mornings at Allan Border Oval.
The Junior Blast program teaches girls and boys the skills to play Australia’s favourite sport, through fun game based activities.

GIRLS 6-11 –FRIDAY NIGHT - GIRLS MASTER BLASTER

For younger girls aged 6-11 yrs, the T20 @ Allan Border Oval on Friday nights is popular. There is plenty of music, cartwheels and dancing mixed in with the cricket. Parents can walk the dog, or hold an end-of-week picnic with friends whilst the girls hone their skills under the guidance of coaches. It’s fun, fast and friendly!

GIRLS 9 – 11 – SATURDAY AM

Our U11 girls play on Saturday morning in a T20 format game, at two levels – for beginners new to the game, and Stage 1 for girls with some prior experience.
Games are played 7 a side and there are modified rules to ensure the focus is on learning skills, enjoyment and maximising participation.

GIRLS 12-15 - SATURDAY PM

Our U13s & U15’s team plays a T20 format on a Saturday afternoon
Games are played locally on the North Shore, all games starting at 1.00pm or 3.30pm.
Our U13s play “whites” cricket, but there are some modified rules to ensure participation. The format suits a variety of skill level with many first
time players mixed in with some more experienced girls.

NEVER PLAYED BEFORE?

Don’t let that stop you! It is not too late to learn. We have many girls who played for the first time last season and are hoping to welcome more again this season.

WHY IS GIRLS CRICKET A GOOD SUMMER SPORTS OPTION?

Why is girls cricket a good summer sports option?
Cricket is a great summer sport option for girls as it develops good hand/eye coordination skills through fielding, batting and bowling as
well as aerobic capacity from the fast-paced action. It also teaches strategy and team work. We have around 50 female players in the club
at different levels and ages.

Statistically, girls have a much, much greater chance of becoming an elite cricketer than do boys and the advent of the Women’s Big Bash League saw a growth in participation and growing crowds last summer.

TRAINING & OTHER INFORMATION

For Girls cricket, the skill level of the player is the key driver of what competition they should play in.
Age is an indicator, but by no means is it the key factor.

Girls will get the most enjoyment and growth through playing with others of a similar skill level.

Please contact the Registrar(registrar@mosmancricket.com.au) if you are not sure what is best for your child, particularly if they
are new to the game

Teams will train once per week on either Tues, Wed or Thurs at Balmoral Training will start no earlier than 4:30pm
